In the Abhay Charan special issue of Spiritual Connections, published in 1997, HH Bhakti Charu Maharaja describes his service of producing Abhay Charan, the epic video serial on the life of Srila Prabhupada:

“1996 was the year of Srila Prabhupada’s Centennial, and I plunged into a very expensive project of making a television serial on Srila Prabhupada’s life. The Abhay Charan TV serial is a colossal project. I cannot really conceive of how I got involved in this multi-million dollar project. It is one of the most important needs for preaching Krsna consciousness today. We have the most important message to convey to this world, and the audio-visual media is the most effective means.”
